Google joining the offline party
Google has a new beta (isn’t all of their stuff??) app that is a browser plugin for allowing offline content. Called Google Gears, it allows content to be taken offline and use local storage. The plugin is available for IE and FireFox on PC, Linux and Mac.
While there are other techniques for doing such applications, with Google getting into the game it just might be a little more mainstream. There are lots of good application ideas out there for something like this, if the applications are built to support it.
Should be interesting playing with it.
