Back on the poker wagon

It’s World Series of Poker season so I thought I would get back to writing about poker again. Besides I’m not doing as much technically these days so what the hell huh?

I don’t normally play in tournaments, but on the prompting of a friend I decided to play in Binion’s weekend $70 buy-in, $10,000 guaranteed prize pool tournament to get back into the swing of things. I am also serious thinking of playing in one of the WSOP $1500 NLH events if I can afford it, so some tournament play would be good.

Well, out of 129 players I managed to get up to third and we split the remaining prize pool, where I took the money and invested in some sleep. It was a good, fun tournament to say the least. I tried the same tournament the following weekend and didn’t do too well, but oh well.

I think this weekend I’m going to make another go of it and see what happens, and I think my wife is going to join me as well. Should be fun.

On another poker note, I played for the first time at Caesar’s Palace and did pretty darn good. I’ll save that for another post though…
