4 Reasons Apple shouldn’t apologize
The day after lowering the price on the iPhone, Apple basically apologized for the price change. What the hell for??
4 - It was too soon after the announcement
It was almost like it was planned that they would offer rebates. Maybe it was??
3 - Early adopters always pay more
Everyone in the tech industry knows this. If you buy the hottest CPU the day it is released you can guarantee that in six months you will have overpaid by double digit percentage points.
2 - It makes Apple look bad
Sure you could argue that reducing the price makes them look bad, but I disagree. The timing of the price job was perfect. Right before the holiday buying season and they gave enough time for the early adopters (and big spenders) to get their iPhone. In other words, everyone who would pay $600 did. By issuing the apology it makes Apple look like the were scamming their customers.
1 - If you are going to stand in line for days to buy a phone, you deserve to pay too much
Enough said.
